The Children's Home was founded in November 1996 when, shortly after the birth of their daughter, Visvanathan and Traude took up 3 children from the slums and a nearby village into their private home where the children were fully integrated into family life.

This small act of compassion slowly and gradually developed into a big home for more than 40 children.

Love & compassion are at the root of the development of the ashram. Service to people and animals is the means of expressing these values.
