Fun & Talent Competitions -24th January 2009

As every year, we held a talent festival for the children of our ashram, in which all the children took part in many competitions relating to sports, skill, essay writing, and general knowledge quiz. The children had lots of fun as you can see from the following photos ....

Karthikai - the festival of lights and lamps.

11th December 2008: This yearly festival is celebrated throughout India on the full moon day in the month of Karthigai (period of November to December). People light up many lamps in their homes. During the cold winter time where clouds and mist cover the otherwise sunny climate in the subtropical regions of India, the lamps of the Karthikai festival light up the houses and bring warmth to the people.

Sri Sathya Sai Baba's Birthday celebrations

23rd November 2008: A charity event was organized by the ashram for the benefit of tribal people from Tenkasi. Other honorary guests took part in the prayers and bhajans, a talk was held by the Sri Sathya Sai Samithi Convenor, Mr. Paramasivan, and a special lunch served on leaves in the ashram rounded the meeting off. All the tribal people were taken back to their respective staying places in the afternoon.
