The ashram is a home for 25 cows and many dogs (which were partly picked up from the streets). Our cows are treated with respect and gratefulness for whatever they give without asking anything in return.
In this way the cows are protected (gosamrakshana) from being slaughtered and sold for various business purposes.
We have to spend around Rs.1,000.- (Euro 17.- to 20.-) per cow/month for its food supply. Grass needs
water to grow. Since we get less rain nowadays, we need the water motor pump for irrigating the rice
and grass fields. Food supplements constitute an additional item on the list of expenses.
The founders are very dedicated
to protecting street dogs and have grown up many thrown-away puppies from the streets. The puppies are nurtured and pampered until they can be given to appropriate households. In addition to this, many of the dogs find a permanent home within the premises of the ashram.
